Wow! On Dynasty, they used everyone on the opening credits, even if they weren't on the cast!

This is just before they spun off Heston, Beacham, Stanwyck et al into "Dynasty II:The Colbys"

Real glamor and fashion in the 80's.. Powerhouse cast and beautiful music, brings back wonderful memories of great TV shows...
Joan Collins always ... ( 8 months ago by koppie0)
Joan Collins always said: After the shooting/Royal Wedding and when they started the Spin-off "The Colby's", Dynasty was falling to down hill!!! I think she's right, because after the "Royal Wedding", every story-line was OVER THE TOP and ALMOST SF.
The first 5 years were great!!! I'm sorry to write, but also the Nielsen Ratings gave that answer... Still a great clip, thanks for posting...

Joan Collins was just jealous because Stephanie Beacham proved to be an even more powerful and talented character, who happened to have a clipped English accent ;).
EEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! ... ( 7 months ago by BlimBlam77)
EEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! My abso favourite version of the credits from any point in Dynasty. I loved the "with Special Appearances By" bit with the Colbys cast. The music cue alone is awesome. If only it had the far superior second version of Dominique's credit. Is it sad that I know ALL their full character names? Even Claudia's bloody maiden name? LOL
21 HEADLINING CAST ... ( 7 months ago by ssosmcin)
21 HEADLINING CAST MEMBERS! God, that has to be a record. I mean, there were 14 for Dynasty alone, the last 7 were those poor schleps from The Colbys. That has to be the longest opening theme ever.
This was when ... ( 6 months ago by dramaticguy)
This was when Dynasty had the mad storyline of Krystle being kidnapped and replaced by Rita a lookalike!(Linda Evans again)
The Colys had good actors but the New Fallon (Emma Samms) was a victim rather than the fiery Pamela Sue Martin orginal.

You got that right. You may be interested to know that the actress who played Sable Stephanie Beecham was on a popular British Show called Bad Girls. She played one half of a duo of con artists. If you type in Bad Girls, Phyl & Bev, you may find some of her scenes.

I loved both soaps, and naturally the writers wanted to find a vehicle for Fallon's memory loss and have remember her own family what better way to merge the two families together- thanks for posting.

Sadly, the days of primetime soaps! I loved them all and rate Dyansty number 2 behind Dallas -- only because of Joan Collins. Actually Knots Landing was better written and acted by the lasting effect Dyansty had on our culture puts in a far number two behind DALLAS. Falcon Crest rounding of the big four. Unfortunately, Dynasty just collapsed after Season 5. The writing for season six was horrible. The good thing about seasons 6 and 7 was Chris Caneove- Ben Carrington. He was an awesome villian!
Recasting Pamela ... ( 2 months ago by wilehart1978)
Recasting Pamela Sue Martin with Emma Samms was a huge mistake. Samms, former GH - Holly, was never ready for primetime and was a huge disappointment as was The Colbys - a mega-million dollar flop and waste of two seasons. Joan Collins is correct when she blames the Moldavia storyline and the Colbys for Dynasty's decline.
I agree~~ Joan ... ( 2 months ago by wilehart1978)
I agree~~ Joan Collins spoke volumes about this show. It plummeted from the being in the top five after Season 5 to number 33 in the Nielsens during season 6 and never recovered. Seasons 7-9 were nearly unwatchable! Good move to bring Stephanie Beacham on for Season 9 but it was too late.

Yes, those credits were awesome - Barbara Stanwyck's ending was classic!
The Moldavia thing ... ( 2 months ago by furyianfyre)
The Moldavia thing was a nightmare! I think that the show had too many people on it to begin with and this was how they tried to "trim the fat" but without Alexis, Dominique, Krystle, Blake...and so on - how could you have had a 'dynasty' so the big cast had to remain.
Even though " ... ( 3 weeks ago by atlmuscleman)
Even though "Dynasty" was set in Denver, I don't remember a single episode where it ever snowed!!! It was always summertime in that part of Denver, apparently...
