i want to be pro-choice, it would make life a LOT easier. i love carlin, but despite him wanting consistency in anti-abortion standpoints, he lacks such in his own argument. no matter how funny he is, most of this is not serious argument.
immoral priests, sperm of executed guys, life began a million years ago and its just a continual process...(yes, but) does this mean its fine to kill ur 2 year old child who gets injured and will be disabled the rest of his life??? etc.

Would you have the gov't legislate all women's uteruses to make sure we don't abort with widdle baby??? Even if you did, abortion would still occur. Women have been self-aborting for centuries. Even I know how to induce one.

Nobody here will try to persuade you abortion is moral. They will only assert choice. Reason: everybody knows some choices are bad, that choice isn't moral in and of itself. The same is true of allowing free choice--not moral in and of itself. It is the content of choice, and what choices are allowed, that makes it moral or immoral. Nobody here can, or will attmept, to convince you that directly butchering a baby is a moral choice to make.

Sadly I can't take cornersmith seriously because they posted a link to a "priestsforlife" website.
However, life begins at birth. We are born and then we live. We don't celebrate "conceptiondays", we celebrate birthdays. A woman has the right to choose whether or not to abort her pregnancy. There aren't any "baby rights", because it's not a baby yet. It's a fetus. You have an egg, that becomes a fetus and then is born to become a baby. End of story.

Regardless of who posted the pics, they are what they are (anybody can use a camera...). If you can't confront the issue, you are hiding in ignorance.
Further, your linguistic argument is circular: there are no baby's rights because it's not a baby yet. You have said nothing. This is a debate about legal recognition of personhood, not about what days we do or don't celebrate as a matter of custom and how the medical community speaks about the life in the womb.

The linguistic argument easily works against the anti-protection-of-innocent-life position as well. Science has made it obvious that there is a life in development in utero. And it is abundantly obvious that it's a human life at the earliest stages of development. So if it's a human life in the womb, and it's innocent (who will argue against this?), then abortion is killing an innocent life. That sounds like murder to me.....

Actually, I never said whether I was anti-choice, or pro-choice, and I find it interesting that you ascribe certain opinions to me. Further, I am a program co-ordinator at a facility which provides various services & support to women who have chosen to keep their pregnancy and raise their child even though their circumstances at first led them to consider aborting. If the anti-choicers would get off their soapboxes & actually do something pro-ACTIVE and positive it would be a nice surprise.

@Hi0howareyou: Of course not. Use your head. The point I was making with the question is the same Carlin was making. A lot of the anti-choice are interested int he fetus only, once it's born, "you're on your own" (Carlin's quote). There are plenty of venom spewing protesters here, but none are ever interested in coming into our centre, where we provide support & education for women who chose to keep their pregnancy, but need help with the raising of their child.

I will tell you what I do, and what a lot of other people/Catholic services do- we help support the single mothers with food, diapers, formaula, etc. With the organization my parents work at, we feed people on a daily basis, give people homes, and clothing, and even rides to where they need to be. We educate their kids in the our school that recently reopened. So don't speak of what you do not know.
