I agree- im pretty sure that there are higher waves, but Teahupoo is just sooo......POWERFUL. It is so thick man and still gets you comin down at like 30 mph. its rediculous. It literally is a wall of water. And the reef compined with the power is instant death if you fuck up- tons of pressure slamming you down against rock...all i can say is Laird has BALLS.

Props to Larid... What he does for the sport is amazing. However, I would really like to see him surf a regular shortboard session at a place like Pipeline. Just to see how he holds his own against today's heavies. None of this SUP, windsurfing, or kiteboarding bullshit. I have not seen footage of him shortboarding since around the time of Vince Klein.
