umm...i dont really like this interpretation of it, with the retardandos and all [its about a song with no sadness, u make it sound sad]. Also the only time Tenors and Basses were both singin the correct pitches is "Dolcemente fa chen dola finere" =/ unless you guys have a different version of the song

We were only following the arrangement of Russell L. Robinson's version of the song, and the baritone and bass part is ritardando. We understood the lyrics of the song, and I believe that the interpretation is still there, the Italian pronounciation was correct, and since it's a madrigal, thus light, sweet and happy. And for your information, it should be "Dolcemente, dolcemente, facendola finire". Gets?

Ok well if its a different arrangement i take back what i said. I personally like the Orazio Vecchi SATB version better. I still dont think the retardandos add to the feel and meaning of the song, but i guess thats to take up with the composer. And as far as pronounciation goes...um not everything was correct, on 0:23 there was no "ch" in chin. its also not CanzonI its CanzonA if u wanna get technical. Check out my school singing it on the video response.

The phrase "Ch'invita" was heard, only it was soft, the pronounciation was right! In the lyrics, it was written "Fa una canzone", and it's not a typographical error. I insist that ritardandos add the meaning of the song. I watched your video, and you're out of tune.

our sheet music has an A at the end -Canzona, as does the title of your video. And i agree we worked on the song today, and we have the tenors to blame for being out of tune

I'm sorry for that. But blaming won't help. I hope you'll work together soon.

According to Rboinson's arrangement of this Vecchi's madrigal, The line with "Se mai bramasti la mia grazia avere" is repeated.
You mean "Che le mie orecchie non vi sono avezze"? Italians are fond of shortcutting in pronouncing with vowels, so it sounded like "Ke-le-myo-re-kiye non di son-wa vet-se"
Got that? ;-)
