..And ACI have not (yet) made an episode about Air France Flight 4590, you must mean Seconds From Disaster.
Yes, thats the ... ( 3 weeks ago by dannepanne87)
Yes, thats the reason of Air France Flight 4590 crashing yes. But in that case (and other) the Concorde was not safe in that potential type of event because there was no F.O.D protection installed between the wings and the fuel tanks avoiding F.O.D. and particularly F.O.D debris on runway occurrences. There should be a Kevlar cloth which they installed after the Flight 4590 crash! They also developed burst-resistant tire after the crash.
...And yes any ... ( 3 weeks ago by dannepanne87)
...And yes any given aircraft would have its tires to burst, but in the Flight 4590 crash the debris continued its way and hit the sensitive fuel tanks causing them to explode and making the Concorde to a not very safe airliner at that time. And the A310 its not a comparable airliner to the Concorde, because these two types of airliners been built in different examples making it not logical to compare each of ones accident record.

Logically you can't compare the Concorde to the B747 and other Airbus (that's they way you spell it!) because the manufactured sum is way different to each other.

Sure, but you cant say its safer than the Boeing 747! Concorde, as well as the B747, had have engineering failures, so in that perspective they both where unsafe for a while. But saying the Concorde is safer than the B747 is totally wrong.

I must agree that ... ( 3 weeks ago by legodirectorHD)
I must agree that the Concorde is THE safest aircraft around. It's a supersonic aircraft, and if you think about it, most commercial aircraft would tear apart at Mach .9. It's only had one accident/incident, which unfortunatly took the lives of many people. The next safest plane would be the Boeing 777. While it's had no fatal accidents, it has had its fair share of accidents, including British Airways flight 38 and Malaysia Airlines flight 124.
...and the it ... ( 3 weeks ago by legodirectorHD)
...and the it wasn't the Concorde's fault. It was a Continental DC-10's. Part of the trust reverser had broken on an earlier flight. They repaired the thrust reverser with a piece of metal from a manufacturer that wasn't approved by the FAA. It has to be approved by the FAA because both McDonnell-Douglas and Continental Airlines are USA companies.
