I agree. It's amazing how after the 80s and with the increase of drug testing in Track & Field, the German & Eastern European programs are making no dents on the international circuit ESPECIALLY on the women's side which is now dominated by U.S. and Caribbean athletes.

Its very interesting to note that the German Chancellor Frau Angela Merkel is re-opening the sports school that produced all the great women sprinters like Marita Koch, Marlies Gohr, Heike Drechsler, Katrin Krabbe, Silke Moller. Germany will have great women stars again very soon.

Marita koch definitely were on drugs. East Germany are the biggest cheats of drugs and cheating the drug test. Marita koch showed a progression along the years since she was a teenager until she retired in 1986 at 29. She was not the typical doping product coming out of the blue. On the other hand, nowadays we have pamela jelimo, who coming out the blue, all of a sudden runs 800 m in 1:54,01 adn everybody is congratulating her and nobody talks about the possibility of her being doped.One day we will know the truth behind teh records and performances of athletes from kenya, ethiopia, jamaica and bahamas.

What the hell is all this racist crap here? I came here to be reminded of something i haven't seen for ages. She was very talented, and less muscled than many other East Europeans at the time. Is this one where drug-taking has been admitted? It seemed so fantastic at the time, and is still way ahead of times the top women are doing today.

I have always loved Marita Koch. It's always a joy watching these kind of races. However, it's interesting how performances have dropped (especially in the womens events, over the years since DRUG TESTING has got better and more sophisticated!!! Mmmm.... Anyone with a bit of logic and common sense would read between the lines!!
