Actually, George was very into country, or rather, rockabilly (he loved Carl Perkins, Chet Atkins), and Ringo's own song, Don't Pass Me By, is obviously influenced by that genre. Paul's I've Just Seen A Face is also similar to country. So, could the Beatles have been a country band?

Is it me, or is this a recording laid over the live performance? If you listen to "Act Naturally" on the 'Help!' CD, it sounds a lot like this one. Also, Ringo's lips aren't in time with the audio a few times. What does someone else think?

It's very well known in the bootleg trading circles that most of this concert contains overdubs and in some parts, complete rerecordings. I can't rember what was done to this one but i'm sure you can find the vid with the origional audio

Jean Shepherd, the humorist who interviewed the Beatles for Playboy in 1964, said the Beatles secretly admitted to it. However, this trick can be so embarassing if it goes wrong that I don't think they'd do it unless they really thought they had to. This song does not seem like Ringo singing live. I assume he was unreliable as a live singer, though not bad, as C&W singers go.

Buck Owens didn't write Act Naturally. My mother, Voni Morrison and her co-writer, Johnny Russell wrote the song in 1962 and Buck recorded it in 1963. I have the BMI award on my wall. Mom passed away August 18, 2008 and Johnny passed away in 2002.
