river phoenix rules! noone can take his place. noone can compare! he was the greatest. i'll love him, forever, and always. he's in a better place. i'm sad he's gone but, i'm glad he's no longer suffering.

River grew up too quickly. He had this family imposed burden of having to take care of everyone and be a beacon of hope for the world. He was too young to sound so enlightened. Youth is about play, not solving financial and societal problems for adults. He was a savior who could not show weakness, as in drug use because it would undermine the expectations of his family, friends and hollywood. But drugs had no expectations of him. It wrapped its arm around him and said fuck it let have fun.

The song is "River Phoenix" by the band Flicker from Sarnia, Ontario. They broke up several years ago, I'm going to say at least 5 years ago. They were a local band here in Sarnia who released 2 CD's. This song was off the CD "Life Passes By".

If only it was as simple as a comment on a fanvid. I try, everyday, to live a life inspired by River, as an example to others. I've been a vegan now for about four years and with anything else, I do what I can. People are hard to change. All we can do is be a living example of a conscientious existence.

omg for the past couple of years i have become a river phoenix fan!! i have all his movies except maybe three :) he was so beautiful and lived a life style that amazes everyone ive probaly read everything u can about him but it still seems like theres more to him than we think hes beautiful and i hope hes doing well where ever he is rest in peace...i love you so so so so so much. beautiful video just like him.
