Why would ANYONE agree to any partition plan when they are the majority? It was unfair.
I don't get what is so difficult to understand about that. It has nothing to do with anti-semitism. I'm sure antisemitism exists but the point was that the Arabs didn't want to lose their land. This isn't complicated.
There can be no Jewish state when the majority is Arab. So Israel has welcomed continual war. The illegal settlements speak it all.
This is not complicated. Just remove your political bias and ask yourself how you'd feel if someone kicked you off your land and out of your home and gave it to strangers.
The Israelis do not want peace because they have the only support that matters (the US). So even though, the majority of the international community condemns Israel's behavior and supports the Palestinians, Israel can get away with what they do.
We also have to remember that with Al Qaeda and terrorism, people in the West associate all Muslims and all Arabs with terrorism.
How is this different from when all Jews were associated with greed and money?
So, for example, we call anyone who attacks us, a terrorist. Ok, so to them, WE are the terrorists.
Both can't be right at the same time. There is got to be some truth amongst these claims so why not examine BOTH sides to get to that truth?
But instead we just keep the US vs. THEM mentality. This is why the conflict won't end.
I think if we all read more about the conflict and really researched each other's cultures, we'd get to the truth.
Overall, I think if Israel doesn't kill off the Palestinians, they will end up with one state. The palestinians will never accept the two state plan that ISRAEL and the US offer. Their plan is not in line with international law or anything credible. So the palestinians have a right to decline it.
One day Israel will basically destroy itself. That's when peace will come.
