| yeah i totally agree with you. its like footballers dont need expensive supercars, but they may want them because they look nice and they like the way they feel. wynton doesnt really need a monette, but if he can afford one, why the hell not!? |

| thx for the level comments. You should read Miles autobiography to get your own facts straight. He states "Wynton plays those tired old licks we did in the 60's", I doubt there was much confusion, just lack of originality. Wynton is a rehash of a young Miles, but accused him of "selling out". Wynton owes his career to people like Miles, so why is he entitled to define true jazz? Jazz standards are FULL of Miles tunes, I don't see any Wynton in classic fake books, and dont ever expect to. |

| my facts are straight, you are merely pointing out different facts which are also true. i am not in any way stating that miles davis's music is bad, all i was doing was pointing out what wynton marsalis said about miles music and what happened in vancouver. as in your comment you made it sound like wynton was playing a set with miles, and miles threw him off because he disliked his music. all i was saying was what actually happened. |

| What's the fight between Miles and Wynton? It's just bullshit. Miles brought jazz to a whole new level, when Wynton just took it, flavored it, and his own gumbo. What Wynton is teaching us how to play with cleanliness. How conversate with each other, and not blast. Making love to music. |

| OMG! I remember watching this in band class! After these videos that my band director showed us, I was inspired to play my trumpet even more than ever before. I just feel ashamed that in my sixth grade year before this I was too ignorant to really take care of my trumpet. Now it's very rusty looking. I have to remember to never abuse my instruments like that ever again. Out of all of three instruments, my clarinet is in the best shape. Thanks for posting, I'll always admire Marsalis.☻♫♫♫♫♫☻ |

| I can sympathise completely. I left my trombone sitting in a closet for about five years, but recently took it up again to discover that the slide's now a bit fucked. There's something incredibly depressing about knowing that an instrument doesn't play as well as it used to because of something you've done to it. |
