Actually they only go round as a 'pack' in restrictor plate racing. And the cars they drive at disney and other places are definitely NOT the same cars they race in the cup series. The question still remains; Why is it that Tony Stewart is the only open-wheel racer turned NASCAR driver that is succesfull?? I personally think the open-wheel guys just can't get used to the extra weight of the cars. By the way, I don't get you Europeans either, lol. J/k :)

lol, I was watching a programme on the Nascar cars at Disneyland...and they ARE the same cars that they drive around in Cup series. Exactly the same Spec
I'm guessing that IRL cars and Nascar cars are completely different styles of racing. If you reach the peak of IRL, it doesn't necessarily mean you can jump in at the peak of Nascar
It doesn't mean that Nascar has more 'prestige' than IRL. If I was F1 world champion but rubbish in 'Monkey Bikes'...does that make monkey bikes more prestigious?

Most prestigious? Well over 90% of people in the UK have absolutely no idea what the Indy 500 is, all those I asked assumed it was a horserace. The only reason the rest know about it is because Nigel Mansell went into Indycar, otherwsie they would have no idea at all. The rest of Europe has even less of a clue, believe me. And as for the rest of the world....

From my experience most Americans don't care about anywhere else, for instance the 'World Karting Association' ONLY governs America.
Of course that's a huge sweeping generalisation, many Americans are not like that at all and I am great friends with them....others however.

Yeah finally, after failing to be able to compete with the european racing marques , the FORD were going to buy ferrari or so they thought. Enzo was only willing to sell the commercial part of Ferrari and keep Ferrari racing seperate. The then director of FORD spent millions in all out personnel vendetta so FORD could beat Ferrari at Le Mans. But hey how well do FORD do on the International motor scene now ?

i remember this race, 14 michelin runners didnt take part in the race due to safety reasons. and so another cockup from michelin, not to mention that they cost the williams bmw team a championship or two...
i say bring back goodyear eagle to formula 1!!
