The reason most people were on board with the war in Iraq was because our government lied to us and said they had WMD's, which they DIDN'T! Now, that the truth is out a lot of people are pissed off. The mis-information was designed to get public approval for an invasion of Iraq simply to attempt to gain control of their oil resources, or put a government in place that is US friendly/backed. The situation isn't as black and white as you seem to think it is.
