"being an Atheist must suck because you believe that after only 80-100 years (max) you will end up into nothing....eternal darkness."
... unless of course you believe in reincarnation. haha.

I dont actually ... ( 1 year ago by linuxpenguin73)
I dont actually know why anyone could be upset or bitter about this. So a bunch of nutbags believe "magic man did it". So what? There's no point getting upset, all we can do is hope that through education and rational thought that these people's kids and grandkids will see through the bs.
I think he said ... ( 1 year ago by cariosus)
I think he said they both used to be Christian. So she may be still bitter about her family forcing religion on her. But it still gives athiests an ugly face (no pun). The rational side is not supposed to get emotional or defensive. Kirk just told Bill O'Reilly about how "angry the Athiests were" and how hard it is to talk sense into them ... Those angry heathens also meantioned at the end how they needed to give Kirk a hug because he was about to cry.

Here are some tough questions for the Christian that I posted on my other Blog, depending on his or her particular theology:
Can God be surprised? Surprise is the basis of laughter. Can God laugh?
Can God think? Thinking means weighing alternatives. But if God knows everything then can God think? Is God metaphysically free? Did God ever choose his character and his moral standards? Does God ever know what it is to make a choice?

The answer to why ... ( 1 year ago by Napstrpsx)
The answer to why anarchy would not ensue is incredibly simple - it's not in our best interest. We all want to be happy and do what's best for the greater good, and the Bible is NOT the best source of morality by a long shot.

80-100 years is a long freaking time. You should feel lucky that you're part of a species with such a long life span. If you want to beat that you need to be a clam or a parrot, and if you want to come close you gotta be an elephant.
As an atheist ... ( 1 year ago by JasonR123456)
As an atheist myself, I have to say the atheists making arguments in this series are absolutely horrible. Watching these atheists argue is like watching "liberals" try to make a point of Fox News. They're totally outmatched. It's unfortunate that they weren't better prepared to make their arguments. That said, the "arguments" from Cameran and the other guy weren't logical and mostly consisted of preaching anyway. This is not a good debate.
I am a human being, ... ( 1 year ago by zygomatic79)
I am a human being, I do not want to be killed. You are a human being, you do not want to be killed. Lets make a pact that if we come across a human that wants to kill other humans we will lock him up, ok? Done. There, we just made a law that had nothing to do with god, higher authority or even a rational argument. It's just an agreement based on the mutual desire to not be killed.

WOW, that is a very ... ( 1 year ago by benjmann2)
WOW, that is a very oversimplified answer. To be honest, most of us are not interested in doing what is for the greater good 100% of the time, so that defeats the point. Most of us still look after ourselves and our wants ahead of seeking the greater good for everyone so frankly that argumnet just falls short.

i agree that these "atheists" were not prepared, and the debate as a whole lacked.
Dude, the Bible is ... ( 1 year ago by Napstrpsx)
Dude, the Bible is NOT the glue holding our society together, the most atheistic nations like Holland are living the most peacefully with very low rates of violence compared to ours.
Yes, we do look after ourselves and put our wants ahead, but I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of people want fair laws that would be for the greater good.
Seems like when Christians use the argument of, "you could do whatever you want" it sounds like they would do whatever they want if they could.
Considering I said ... ( 1 year ago by benjmann2)
Considering I said no such thing as you just accused me of in my response (saying the Bible was the glue of our society and that I accused atheists of doing whatever they want) and I flat out find all of that insulting. Why the defensiveness for me stating an opinion with evidence in contrast to what you said? The vast majority seem to want "fair" laws, until they are the ones caught breaking them and then most want to get out of it.
How about lets use ... ( 1 year ago by benjmann2)
How about lets use something other tha muder & killing because most people get that one? How about some lesser injustices like stealing (lets use illegal downloading per se), lying or something else. Using murder over and over gets old since that is huge but what about smaller moral concerns.

Hey idiot, I got that part, you missed what I say saying though by a mile. The part that I was mentioning was the constant example of using murder in these examples instead of using some smaller, but frankly harder to followlaws that are in existence yet many peoplechoose to break. Just because we have come up with laws does not mean we have ARRIVED and follow them regularly.
