too much body ... ( 1 year ago by scottyboyF)
too much body movement look at ur hips u want to keep em underneich and behind u ur trying to lift the ball let it come naturally. dont matter bout weight transition 2 theories of hitting that takes a lot of wor and different timing althugh hand path of linear wing is on the mone ur too old to make major adjustments in your swing. check out your front shoulder and that fron tow spinning out. keep em in get some bend in you baxk
d squared is right ... ( 1 year ago by ducksbaseball4)
d squared is right you are dropping your hands so you have a loopy swing which results in pop flies
here is what you ... ( 1 year ago by dannys89)
here is what you got to do. switch to lefthanded and be the next ichiro. it aint that hard
You have to keep ... ( 1 year ago by BRiggs71)
You have to keep yours hands up up and drive down and through the ball keeping closed until contact and then explode. swinging up will create alot of fly outs.
You're pretty close ... ( 1 year ago by 1bagger35)
You're pretty close man. I notice two things. You over-rotate too early, this drops your back half. If you take the best hitters in the MLB on a swing where they hit a jack, you'll be able to hold a pencil in a direct line perpendicular to the ground through their knee, hip, shoulder and head. Also, spinning out makes it very difficult to impart backspin.
The thing that ... ( 1 year ago by 1bagger35)
The thing that helped me most was thinking about hitting into your front side. Your front foot needs to stay flat through hand extension. I would focus in your BP on swing control instead of trying to hit bombs. You'd be surprised how much farther you can hit a ball by only swinging 90% or so but keeping everything under control with perfect swing mechanics... it's pretty obvious you're just trying to hit bombs, and you're losing your power b/c your front foot is rolling out too early.

Your dropping your ... ( 1 year ago by BlueSoxNo1)
Your dropping your hands and your front side is coming out too early out of the box and u need to try to stay balanced, your leaning towards the backside on your follow through. take advice from the pro.
All of you giving ... ( 1 year ago by Indoooooo22)
All of you giving advice should be taking advice. Yea including you Bluesox aka "Pro". This is a Rotational swing and all of you are giving him advice on how to use a Linear swing. Both are good techniques, but linear is a contact swing while rotational is a power swing. Take his swing and pause it at the point of contact and compare it to pro swings at the same point of contact. Pros like Puljos, A-Rod, Bonds, Hafner, Manny, Ortiz, Jeter, Cano... just to name a few.
First movement is ... ( 1 year ago by Indoooooo22)
First movement is the hips popping as the front heel drops. Then the hands and bat flatten and the back shoulder drops with the bend in the back leg. This instantly puts his bat on the plane with the ball which leaves little work left to do.
The hips bacically ... ( 1 year ago by Indoooooo22)
The hips bacically take control and pull your upper body(hands and bat) through the zone creating whip. The front elbows first movement is up and the back elbow is running across his waist-line. At contact he has the power L in his bottom elbow and his body is slightly leaning back giving him the power L in his back leg.
95% of major league ... ( 1 year ago by Indoooooo22)
95% of major league hall of famers have a rotational swing. You guys are tryin to teach him how the other 5% did it. He does have a little too much movement going on b4 the swing, but watch from right after the hands drop. P.S. Bonds is wide open at contact... chest facing the pitcher in some cases (inside pitches)and you should not be perpendicular to the ground when u finish. But hey good luck with the linear approach fellas
Indoooo22 is right. ... ( 1 year ago by postaudio)
Indoooo22 is right. nice swing guy. hands pull through nicely, front elbow is up and out of the way and your back foot ends up on your toes telling me you have good weigh transfer. would rather see a bit more load up initially but some movement is better than none.
you see your first ... ( 1 year ago by postaudio)
you see your first movement is pulling you hands down to where you think the ball is going to be. it should be a slight pull up to the top of your shoulder so that you can come down and forward to the baseball. loading up.
keep your hands up ... ( 1 year ago by baseba1l)
keep your hands up and your weight on your back leg while you sqush the bug. It'll genurate more power through the ball.

You guys will say all this but how many of you can actually do it.
A few things....all ... ( 1 year ago by MaywoodMets)
A few things....all good players have a combo of rotational and linear in their swing. This swing here needs more weight transfer, better ballance and more extension. Granted players in the pros have suceed without picture perfect mechanics. As for that comment about looking at certain pros, thats a joke...don't compare this swing to those guys.
I don't wanna hear ... ( 1 year ago by MaywoodMets)
I don't wanna hear any squash the bug garbage either, it promotes poor weight transfer and poor balance. And GoldenGlove, it doesn't matter if someone can do it...knowing how and doing are two different things.
i think the hands ... ( 9 months ago by jmccrossenrn)
i think the hands drop a little to much. if you keep them still it help with fast balls above the waste. im not saying anythings wrong really. but chances are you have a tough time not hitting fastballs at the chest right up into the air.
u have a sick wing ... ( 8 months ago by jhirka)
u have a sick wing man........i aint one to comment, but i had the same problem in my swing i see in your swing...when u stride, your eye level drops which is gonna make everything that much harder....keep your head still and with your swing you'll be solid.

he`s right but ist a opinion if you hit bals far away with that swing keep on going.
but we learned it with our hands level and still.
but the rest of your swing looking fine.
i like the way on the contact that your power is at the front legg that`s sonmething that many people don`t do.
