Bad Religion - Skyscraper lyrics

Video Description:
(words and music by Mr. Brett)
Babel is a city mentioned in The Bible in which the citizens longed so much to know what the afterlife was like, that they attempted to build a tower that could reach heaven ("we'll build a city with a tower for the world"). They never reached heaven and were forced to stop building the tower because of a miscommunication problem with God. What happened was that all the people in the world spoke the same language and some were building this great tower. God saw what was going on and thought that if they were able to do that, that nothing would be impossible for them. The story is really the explaination of why there are different races and languages because God scattered them around and gave them different languages so they didnt understand each other, hence the name Babel..because it was confused and no one made sense of it. In the Brazil concert Bobby was asked about why they hadn't played Skyscraper and Anesthesia and he said it's because the vocals are too high and after 8 months of tour Greg just can't s
ing it anymore.

Its a fucking myth....
the town was real and maybee even the tower itself. But there is no god who destroyed it.
And if chinese, african, european people realy all come from babel... that would be called evolution... doesnt it ?! or how do you explain the differences in races.
You thought, that if you got caught we'd all go away Like a spoiled little baby who can't come out and play You had your revenge"
We would worship him anymore if we saw he was not divine
Myth is not literal history, but its allegories do reflect the spirit of that time and are usually veiled, jumbled esoteric references to real events, and many myths have timeless lessons and resonance in them.
