well, if U get grazed by anything, its going to fuck up ur day, and U said that if a .50 cal passed by and didn't contact, it would still tear a limb off, and the kinetic energy that a bullet has at impact has nothing to do with how it damages tissue example: a 9mm HP has much more energy than a .45 HP, but the .45 HP is going to do much more damage, now the .50 if different, but its still not going to rip a person in half just from getting near them.....

ok, so would a 223 and 308, and a HP 308 round would leave a bigger hole then a FMJ .50 BMG..... it would take about 15 inches of flesh just to turn the 600+ grain bullet sideways, so if it hit ur arm, it would just leave a huge half inch hole, unless ur a towel-head and hav scrawny arms, U'd just hav a hole, no rippage, U'd be surprised how stretchable skin is! granted U'd probly die from blood-loss, ur arm would still be there.....

When you say, "400 caliber", do you mean 400.0 or 4.0? Because there's a difference. And a hand-loaded bullet could cut you in half if it's made properly with the right type of components. And lastly, assuming that all/any of my firearms experience is from video games is pretty fucking retarded. And saying that a 50 BMG woould just put a half inch hole in you is just fucking retarded. I said 400 caliber, I even said after it (4 inch) U make up all of these things that U say that U know, but U can't even refer to what ur talking about, a hand-loaded bullet with 'the right type of components' and what makes U think that a half inch bullet would leave a hole more than that? sure, its moving very fast, so maybe a 1 inch hole for an exit, my point is that bullet construction is much more vital to wounding and tissue damage than bullet size!

Okay, according to you, i could say 500 caliber or 5 caliber or 50000000 caliber and mean a five inch bullet. And the reason a .50BMG would leave a big ass hole in you is the same reason a .223 can leave a bigger exit wound than entrance wound. You are correct when you say construction is more vital, which is exactly why I said "hand-loaded". no, according to me a five inch bullet would be 5.0 caliber, I didn't think I needed to put a decimal in there because I thought U were smarter than that, but caliber is basaically like saying inches, and a 5(.) inch bullet would be 5(.) caliber just like a half inch bullet is (.)5 caliber, and the 223 leaves a big exit because the bullet tumbles in flesh, my point= unless ur 15+ inches thick and obese as hell, the .50 BMG won't even hav a chance to tumble.....

and before U smart off, I'm not talking about the above bullet, which isn't a common loading for the .50 I'm referring to M33 ball which is a 660-690 grain FMJ-BT and if I had 2 be shot by either an M33 .50 BMG or a 180 grain soft point .30-06, I'd definitely rather be hit by the .50, because is isn't going to open up and I would hav a much better chance of survival, granted that if hit in the vitals by either I'd be down VERY fast!

Not so much the diameter of the bullet, exactly, but it's either the bullet, the bore (from either the lands or grooves), or some number near one of those. For example, the .50 BMG uses a .510" bullet, but the distance between the lands in the rifling is approximately .50".

Well lets see here. What would take longer to stop, a freight train at 60 mph. or a motorcycle at 60 mph.? A freight train can take over 1/2 mile to stop while cruching a car while a motorcycle would need how much room to stop plowing in to a car? Can anyone do the calculus for us here?
