Teachers are the only profession where you can reach tenure: you cannot be fired. no checks and balances. And teaching is the easiest "profession" to get into. And advanced degrees in teaching are the easiest to obtain. I'll leave it to you to figure out the quality of people that it attracts. Sure there are some good teachers, but there are a lot more lousy ones, who ended up in their jobs, and kind of float through without really giving a rip.

Teaching is the easiest to obtain? In no other career are you subjected to so many examinations during your college career. In no other career are you subjected to so many background criminal checks. and i wont even begin to mention all the courses that have to be taken in order to become a teacher because it isnt enough to only pass yout ted courses, but you also must be profficient in all other courses out there.
