That is indeed Jeff when he was really young pre-mustache. Jeff wasn't a big slapper but he did for this song, and adapted it to fit his own style. Great clip!

Beyond belief- maybe the best of the best music ever written and played; right here. Thanks for this. One of a Kind, one of the best recordings ever. More Bruford!!

Yes, quite the line-up Bruford put together after leaving UK with Holdsworth in tow. This song shows Holdsworth for the innovative soloist he was as well. Berlin's playing here is, of course, superb...

I could kill the camerman shooting Holdsworth's solo - BARELY showed his fret hand! Almost as retarded as Stigwood's constant headshots during solos in Cream's Farewell Concert video. Other than that, I totally appreciated all the different camera angles and panning and crane shots, especially if NOBODY gets left out. Must have been 25 years ago when I last heard this stuff - "Bruford Tapes" is still one of my top ten live albums.
Holldsworth playing ... ( 11 months ago by CordovaJoeCebu)
Holldsworth playing live? Unheard of. He hated to have to play his solos as done on the LP's. That's why he wouldn't tour with UK back in the late 70's. And he's playing an SG! THNX for this one. Those 1st two Bruford LP's hardly left my turntable!

Saw Holdsworth live about 2 months ago, he seemed to be having a pretty good time.
Of course, it was HIS band and he could improvise as much as he wanted.

I saw him play many times. He always seemed to have Les Pauls with him, or SGs as they were called later. He actually prefered those crappy trems on Gibsons but he never abused them like his friend Eddie. Peace on,,,,,

I saw Holdsworth play here in Boston with Stanley Clarke and Stewart Copeland. He
knows his rhythm sections......
ALL these cats were ... ( 7 months ago by JazzzRockFuzion)
ALL these cats were ahead of their time- Stewart using a Yamaha Digital Piano way before samplers became common place- Holdsworth playing liquid legato lines years before "the metal crowd" came on the scene- Berlin playing extremely advanced slapping that wouldn't be heard until Wooten came along- Bruford rocking the roto toms and breezing over odd time signatures. This was THE group is jazz fusion. Word to these cats.

YES! YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! I meant to say, Yes he played live.. that was his own band. Saw him in '84 in Buffalo, NY. Had front row table and made a casette recording. What a clinic he put on.
