| i really hate it when people say that kinda stuff, " can he draw not in comic style? of course he can! just cause u choose a line of work in a particular style doesnt mean they cant draw abstact or anything. People always say " ah well, he draws comics so he can only draw in that style" |

| Actually, it takes loads of talent and dedication to draw comics. Very few teenagers could possibly keep up with the pace a dedicated illustrator has. Pages a day equals a 10-hour work day or more, and that's if the artist is in a hurry. A comic illustrator has very little time to finish his work as fine as he would like it, so he kinda has to have enough talent that if he worked at half his normal quality, it's still saleable. |

| IMO you're talking about motivation and commitment - but I'm just talking about good old fashion raw talent. I'm not saying experience and commitment doesn't provide an comic artist with the storyboard-crafting expertise to work fast under pressure, a 'professional' quality difficult to attain, but the raw on-the-spot artistic skill displayed here is not as rare as all that. |

| Yeah totally man! I knew a couple of school friends at 14 who have given it up for 'real' jobs who could doodle up something as good as Byrne or Jim Lee in this sort of time I'm dead serious. |

| ps - I fully appreciate your poitn parlotrick4, but if the 10k per issue that is being touted is correct, that expertise goes an awful long way - interpret that observation whichever way you want. :) |

| ditto Shiro458, even a some insight about the drawing process tells you pared-down anatomical and facial expressions in comics and the fullblown 'realistic style' are just MODES of sketching, final product depends on: personal and commercial tastes, demand, and the individual artist's personal development of their illustration style, e.g. Jim Lee. |
