Tecmo Super Bowl - Christian "The Nigerian Nightmare" Okoye
Uploaded by: LucidFaia
Video Description:
TSB's Christian Okoye versus the Indianapolis Colts defense. One run, one quarter of play, 75 yards, and around 60 broken tackles.
When Okoye is in "Good" or "Excellent" condition, the Colts defense is incapable of tackling him without diving. If they simply run into Okoye, they'll bounce right off of him. This is because Okoye is the strongest runner in the game, and the Colts defenders tend to be very weak hitters.
Like Bo Jackson, Okoye had a stellar NFL career that was prematurely ended by an injury.
On a different note, congratulations to the real-life Colts for winning Super Bowl XLI.

The 8-bit era was a wonderful, wild, crazy, ludicrous, ridiculous time, it was.
I never really had a chance to play this game in the day. I was busy with all of my pen & paper football games (Statis-Pro anyone?... APBA?)... but this really looks like a ridiculous game. I can't imagine I'd like it.
but does anyone remember the hit he took by Steve Atwater in 1990, what a brutal hit that was
There is a stat in TSB called "Hitting Power," or HP. If two players collide, and one of them has 50 HP more than the other, the player with 50 less HP will simply bounce off of the other player.
When in Good condition, Okoye has a HP of 100. Only one player on the Colts defense (LT Jon Hand) has a HP above 50. Do the math. As long as Okoye avoids dive tackles and avoids Jon Hand, he'll never be brought down.
