I'm ONE in a Million!

Uploaded by: talk74
Video Description:
I've got tickets for the NFL International Series game at Wembley on 28 October. More than half a million people applied for the chance to buy them so I did pretty well to get some!
So the big question is Giants or Dolphins...who would you support?

Are you retarded?!? ... ( 11 months ago by THawkoo)
Are you retarded?!?!?!
There is definitely WAY more talent and skill required in American Football than Rugby. Rugby they only tackle and underhand the ball to each other with a kick every now and then.
The reason American Football players only play one position is because you have to be extremely good at what you do in order to be able to compete.

i feel that rugby and NFL are both very physical sports, NFL players need more pace but rugby players need the stamina because there's 1 break, also NFL players wear SO much padding, everytime there is a tackle play is stopped but in rugby play goes on with the risk of players getting trampled. plus in NFL you can throw forward and you don't have to touch the ball down in the "endzone" to score. i prefer rugby but i think NFL can get very exciting but not my cup of tea.

I am I retarded you ask...just because I don't like American football and think Rugby requires more skill and a higher level of fitness.
You say "There is definitely WAY more talent and skill required in American Football than Rugby"..lol have you ever played rugby? have you ever tried to understand the concept that all things American are not necessarily better.

I've been saying to my friends for a while now that if they want to get the europeans involved with football, they need to hold a couple of big college games over seas. Everything you said is correct, but it also needs to be pointed out that college games are just a lot more exciting than NFL games.

Part of what makes ... ( 11 months ago by rjelder)
Part of what makes a college game so special is spending all day tailgating on campus and watching the game in a huge stadium. That would be lost if it were played over seas. By the way, I live just east of New Orleans and spend my Saturday nights at LSU in Tiger Stadium!!!

To be honest, the atmosphere of most Premiership and Rugby Union matches resembles the college game more than the NFL.

ditto. not a fan of the NFL but i went because it was a big game and historic. did you enjoy yourself?
There are several ... ( 11 months ago by jmd1981)
There are several factors that contribute to the difference in the atmosphere between a college game and an NFL game. One of the biggest differences is the size of the stadium, most NFL stadium have a seating capacity of around 60-65 thousand, where as many colleges and universities have stadiums that seat over 100,00, the rose bowl where UCLA (my alma mater) plays, seats 93,000.
Another factor is ... ( 11 months ago by jmd1981)
Another factor is that the professional sports teams in the U.S. are not nearly as old as the professional clubs in england and europe (clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal where founded in the 1800's weren't they?) So you don't get this deep-seeded, 100+ year old passion around american pro teams (at least most of them), but you do get that kind of history and tradition with colleges and universities, many of which are well over 100-150 years old.
You also have to ... ( 11 months ago by jmd1981)
You also have to consider the fact that in college sports, the teams are representing your school, so many people, including myself, consider it to be much easier to develop a passion for a team that represents the school that you went to vs. a team that represents a city that you might have lived in.

Go to my favorites and check out the video entitled "Sports Special: LSU Football"
This video was made in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. This video gives a good glimpse at the passion Americans have for college football. The video is long, but very good.

As a matter of fact, I HAVE played Rugby. Its fun but to say it requires more talent and skill is definitely just wrong. It certainly does not.

If you didn't get hooked last year you will this year. Last years game was a boring low scoring game and I was pissed we couldn't put on a better show for the UK. This years game features two of the most potent offensive teams in the nfl. Go Chargers
