n GM's Robot spot, a yellow robot is sad and moping after being fired and for a moment we're thinking, "Okay, so GM is hiring people again instead of using robots to make cars!" But then we see the robot is just having a bad dream, followed by the line, "With a warranty like this, everyone is worried." Everyone? This just reminds us that robots put people out of jobs. Now they're trying to make them cute and make us feel sorry for them? Not a smart approach.

wow - and whoever posted this video is an idiot - that commercial had nothing to do with 'GM hiring robots instead of people'. Anyways, are you actually so delusional that you think that car companies don't use robots (well - not in the sense the commercial suggest, but still). Think about all that goes into making a car - people couldn't even do most of that without machines.

The commercial was a joke.
It had nothing to do with hiring robots over people.
It was pulled off the air since suicide interest groups found it offenseive.

i lost my gm job on the line and i'm not offended. i RELATE to that robot lol. come on, that robot can only put in a screw. line workers do way more than put in one screw. um since when do people not work on assembly lines?? have you no concept of what goes into making a vehicle? besides, all the maintenance, breakdowns and upgrading machines sometimes makes machines/robots more expensive and unreliable than people

This commercial had to be yanked after its first appearance during the Super bowl because it was thought to be offensive because it depicted suicide. I didn't even think of it that way until it was brought up in the media. Are we seriously going to get mad at robots for making things more cost and material efficient? Really?
