The reason why it makes more sense to gauge a team by the rank that they are when they play you instead of their final rank is because the outcome of YOUR game against them directly determines where they finish at. For example, If Miami doesn't cream Tex A&M 34-17, then Tex A&M doesnt fall out of the Top 25, if Nebraska doesnt get raped by Mizz and Kansas, then they dont finish in the Top 10. As a matter of fact thats even how the BCS formula gauges SOC. By rank at the time of game.

2. Beat those Ranked Opp. by a wider margin than NU
3. Beat an NU team that beat the Defending Champions

5. Set the NCAA Record for points vs Ranked Opps
6. DESTROYED an similarly run Option NU team.
7. More 1st rd Draft picks thn '95 NU had drafted TOTAL

there is really no way to compare both teams. im a huge cornhusker fan, and i just want miami and husker fans to stop this retarded fighting. although i think nebraska beat more ranked opponents if im not mistaken, we beat #2 florida, #7 colorado, #8 Kansas State, and #10 Kansas, all of which were either extreme blowout (62-24 against flordia and 44-3 against kansas) or by 24 plus points on the others. and draft picks doesnt matter for how good a team is...

Miami 01' team is NOT better than the 95' Husker team. It's considered by TOO many to be the best team ever. I'm a fan of neither, but I can tell you, you can't compare the two. NU had better talent, no one gives a fuck about your "ALL-Americans", and they had a more physical defense. Tommie Frazier got screwed out of the Heisman possibly twice.

Actually, No. Nebraska didn't play more ranked opponents than Miami. MIami beat #14 SU 59-0, #12 UW 65-7, #14 VT 26-24, #14 FSU 49-27 + Miami DESTROYED the 2nd ranked Huskers who just so happened to have beaten the Defending National Champions (OU) 20-10. All-Americans and draft Picks ARE important when gauging what the CFB world and the NFL thought of the talent on your team.

The Miami '01 team was "great", but the Nebraska '95 team was "better". They were the best "ever". Remember this, not one team ended the game within 10 points of NU. NOT ONE !!!. That's amazing. The average score of the 4-top 10 teams they beat was 49-25 no other team has done that before or since. Their second team would've been a Top-10 team...That team was the epitome of "domination" cut-n-dry....
