but if you're using a smaller turbo (stock usually) that flows best at midrange revs, wouldn't you size your cams and exhaust accordingly to perform best in midrange? if your exhaust flow/performs best at 7000rpm but your turbo runs out of flow at 5000 i consider that a big loss in efficiency. correct me if wrong?

if that's the case then i see no point really, it's actually more like a downgrade if you ask me. maybe in a drag scenario you would see some benefit, but in grip racing this would certainly slow you down. may as well fit 272 cams while he's at it!

Its very simple! yes if the car was NA then he would have a horrible powerband.
This car is turbocharged if you cant tell. The turbo creates more then enough backpressure to induce the scavenging effect.
Which is why you see alot of high hp Turbo cars running cutouts,Straight pipes, and even open DP's.

The exhaust was put on the car like this because I knew I would get a larger turbo in the future. I get lots of torque around 4,000 and the turbo starts to choke at 6,000rpms. The car makes 23 pounds of boost and holds 19psi to redline. Those of you posting ignorant comments, please go home.
