Australian pitches are prepared for pace. The likes of McGrath, Gillespie and Lee would consistently remove at least 5 wickets between them and little would be left for Warne to salvage. Murali has pitches prepared for spin though he was lucky in a sense that there have never been outstanding bowlers capable of stealing his wickets during his career. Statistics prove that Warne was a better player away from home.
