Punches below the belt, hypocritical behavior all the way (now they're smiling to each other, the next day they shout "Shame on you, ..." in front of exalted crowds). No, we don't. The way I see it, when you burn the American flag you burn away all of your freedoms. The amendment would have made it a constitutional law that flag burning out of protest would be a crime. Obama voted it down and the amendment failed by one vote. He hates the flag.

To outlaw flag burning would be to limit everyones 1st amendment right to free speech. Countries like North Korea and Iran have similar amendemnts. Flag burning for the most part serves as an act of protest and as an attention-getting act. To criminalize it would allow American citizens to be martyrized and become political prisoners. Also if you make something illegal people would only do it more. So i think your wrong in saying Obama hates the flag, he loves the 1st amendment.

Burning the American flag is an action, not a form of speech. Plus, the freedom of speech already has limits in place to protect people's safety. This would have simply been one more. And no, making something illegal doesn't make people do it more. I won't go out and do something I never did just because it was made illegal. This would only prevent as many people from burning the flag.

That is a ridiculous statement. The reason America is struggling right now is because there is a very weak middle class. It is economic fact that a strong middle class allows for greater economic growth from everybody. The last decade of irresponsibility and overlooked regulation has clearly resulted in the Trillion dollar loss in Wall Street last week and $700 Billion expenditure now that congress will have to pay out.
