Go tell Gary that and he will tell what an ignorant ass statement that is.
Gee whiz ....
I'm GangsterCorleone.
No, don't be sorry about what you like son.
In what way is it better than Hendrix's version .... And which version are you talking about, by the way. G.C.
By today's standards, yes. But there is nothing pioneering about this on the part of Gary. I would like to venture that Stevie Ray Vaughan who mainlined with the blues more than Gary did, developed this bodacious blues tone earlier than Gary did. (Check their relative biographies & compare. Stevie was two years younger than Gary.)*G.C.
"ignorance ass" is a little strong though Don Corleone. . .
santana, alvin lee, leslie west, johnny winter, were there with jimmy- and i think just as good on guitar- i loved jimi, dont get me wrong-
better is a matter of an individuals opinion. Even if one guitarist is a virtuoso and the other is a three chord strummer and one person things the three chord strummer is better then thats an opinion.
But i do agree, hendrix's original was so amazing its just mind blowing.
wow if he was alive for just a few more decades we would have more epic guitar tracks. He'd probably innovate something spectacular like a new guitar technique.
