Watchmen is going to be a blast. Dr Manhattan is superb All the gut=ys say thjis one Rocks. Good on ya Zack. 300 was brilliant. Gerry Butler excellent and he is doing the Captain in the Black Freighter. That is the best news yet.

ya, but moore didnt have to deal with 20 years of comic book movies, which includes the crapfest batman and robin either...and ozy's suit is a take on batman and robin...turn in your fuckin geek card

The trailer played up the whole badass/cynical angle. This superficial interpretation of Watchmen spawned the horrible abyss of one dimensional dark brooding anti-heroes of the early ninties.
The 'heroes' of Watchmen are supposed to be pathetic. This trailer played out as the typical superhero/team movie. The cheese factor was toned down because the audience wouldn't clue in.
The trailer had 'from hell' and 'V' written all over it. Hollywoood looks to go 0 for 4 on Moore adaptations.

you gleaned all of that from the teaser? or did you see the full trailer at the con? cuz from what i hear, the full trailer is spot on...kevin smith has seen the ruff cut, he says it is great...take that as you will...the teaser will sell at least 1 mil copies of the book...to me, that is a plus

Had my doubts about the project from the get go, I've only seen the trailer before Dark Knight. I also have little faith in the director.
Call me pretentious, but Moore wrote Watchmen specifically so that is couldn't be done justice on film, to showcase the medium of comics. I'd be happier Moore's masterpiece left untouched. I wouldn't be surprised to see superhero movies in the future fall into trap comics did post DKR and Watchmen. I don't see postmodern superhero films on the horizon (IMO).

Spot on, they ARe NOT superheros, they do not look cool, except for Dr. Manhatten none of them have super powers.
They're suppossed to look average AT best, Nite owl 2, should be overweught, in his 40's. Landing in that street batman style, he shoulda threw his back out, I mean has this guy Snyd read the Book?
Chist Ozymandius is a kid? He's supposed to be the most intelligent man on earth, and a physical specimen, covered in the royal gold and purple colors(its sybolic). Trailer=crap.
