hmm I grew up in NJ, born in 78 and I remember these commercials very vividly. I guess you were watching sesame street mostly when these started not airing anymore. You missed it by just a few years I think.

I was born in Manhattan in 1979, and yes, I truly remember those ads indeed. Guess your parents either restricted you from watching TV on a school night, or couldn't afford a TV.

i saw a furniture store commercial the other day and figured it would be for seamans but it wasn't - but yeah i instinctively associate local furniture store ads with seamans

I was looking up another local commercial from the 1980's and clicked on 'Crazy Eddie'. I cannot believe it, I forgot all about this commercial. IN-SANE!
