Nokia N95-8GB Loose Slider Fix

Uploaded by: Kallenator1988
Video Description:
Update 16.02.08 (Read this)
Tape used in video is a bit to thick.
Be very accurate and careful with the tape piece or else it wont stick to the plastic rail properly.
How to fix loose slider on a Nokia N95-8GB, it's a bit different/harder than fixing a regular N95.
This is probably the fifth time I do this and this mod seem to be very good. Same smooth slide without the annoying click on the left side of the screen.
Cons and pros.
+Removes the loose slider on right side.
+Easy to do.
+Does not require any special tools.
-May fracture the guarantee.
-It's possible to break something if not careful enough.
-It does not remove the very little looseness on the y axis.
Enjoy =)

Thanks for any further information supplied! I am sure it helps those who reads here and want to do the modification.

The part of the phone where the screen is attached, was very shaky.
There are videos on youtube showing the exact problem. =)

Thank you very much, this worked wonders for me and my phone feels more like a brand new phone than when i took it out of the box. just a little comment: make sure you guys that the piece of tape (in my case electrical tape) covers only the middle part of the rail unlike what we see in the video because both sides of the rail are thicker than the middle part if you look closely and if you put tape on the whole thing the phone wont slide no more once you put it all back together! thanks again!

Hey bro, awesome video I was just wondering do I have to purchage another plastic railing, or can I just use the same one on my phone. Also what Lube did you end up putting on the railing?
Array ( 1 month ago by Kallenator1988)
Thanks =)
I used the plastic rail that came with the phone, Nokia has some new ones that are tight and proper, but I don't think they are available for the public to buy.
The lube isn't very critical and if you have to lube it to make it go easier, then the tape is to thick. Any lube will do however, I am sure a little engine grease will work fine.

Hey bro,
Man I fixed it thanks a lot buddy. Someone from Nokia should check this video out. They are probably waiting for someone like you to show them how to fix these issues. Take it ez.
Array ( 1 month ago by Kallenator1988)
No problem =)
Unfortunately Nokia knows how to fix it and it is covered by the guarantee.
The thing is however, this error SHOULD have been fixed before they launched the phone, the old N95 has exactly the same issue, how they managed to learn so little from that is pretty scary.

just a reminder to those of you in australia. I bought the torx screw and when i opened up the casing.. it's three normal 'plus' screws on a V2 metal raling -.-' .. I initially had that z axis problem, so I stick some plastic tape (2 layers) at the very top and bottom of the raling). Not a 100% fix.. but it's better now.. and the y axis is tighter, which is good. :D

It's pretty sad that this mistake has not been cleared, one would think that they learned from the first N95, but nooo....
That is indeed utter rubbish from Nokia!
You tell them ;)
