Final Fantasy VIII is easily one of the best FF games EVER (and yes, I played all of them except XII) and that is FACT. Anybody who disagrees just hasn't played it or played it only a little and didn't pay much attention to the story, characters and plot twists. I have beaten this game 8 times (I don't usually beat RPG games more than twice) and I was thinking on starting a 9th game sometime soon (the last time was a year and half), 7 is great and all but 8 is even better, 10 is amazing too.

IV and VI are also really good...then again, there's no such thing as a bad Final Fantasy game, I'm always excited when a new one comes out (and I'm not that much of a gamer anymore due to "life" but I still look forward to FF games), best RPG series ever.

What did they do with Selphie, Quistis, Irvine, and Zell in terms of character developement? You only get a little bit of character developement from Squall and Rinoa but it's way more than with the other characters in your party. Again, I liked them but I felt they didn't do anything with them.
