You haven't seen much films if Atonement is the best movie adaptation from a book you've ever seen, No Country For Old Men is winning adapted screenplay, don't be shocked if Atonement doesn't get any awards on Sunday, America wasn't as crazy about it as Europe was and Norbit's make up is very good, so you shouldn't bitch about it being nominated on that category.

Yes, Americans aren't as thrilled about European films, but European films are generally better made and people who truely understand filmmaking tend to gravitate towards there.
The makeup was average. There were other films with much better makeup than that.

Have you read something that wasn't adapted last year into a movie? and all you said in this comment is purely your opinion, yeah, Atonement is better than No Country, but does it matter when no one thinks is winning? NO and according to you, what other films had better make up than Norbit? You're just another one of those people who thinks that because the film is terrible, it's technical aspects shouldn't be rewarded, sorry, when YOU'RE wrong.

The makeup in Norbit is basic fat suit. They did this on Tyra. It's not bad fat suit, but it's not worthy of an Oscar nomination. Even The Orphanage and One Missed Call had better makeup effects.

I totally agree that a stupid-ass movie like Norbit shouldn't be rewarded for a nomination for best Kraft service let alone makeup!

i agree with your comment on Atonement as the most loyal screenplay of all. It wa sjust perfect, I was SHOCKED when it did not win.
Yes, Atonement wa sone of the biggies for Costume Design. I fell that the green dress actyually MADE the film, apart from it's music, cinematography and acting :P
