never do the towel trick, its for retarded people who want to destroy their xbox even more than it is. There is thermal paste under your heat sinks, ontop of your processors. All you have to do is just replace the paste, it's $5.00 for the damn paste, and theres a kit that also comes with it and it comes with instructions to install the kit. You will only damage your xbox worse than the simple small problem it already is! Dont be a cheep ass, send it in or fix it yourself!

yea my 360 i bought only 5 months ago already got the Error 74. shit was made in 2008 so its evident they haven't done anything to fix the 360's hardware failures. my advice is purchase one at bestbuy and get the 80dollar 2year warranty or buy a ps3 that doesn't have this problem with the system. other than hardware problems xbox is a good system its just pathetic though the shit is still happening daily to ppl.

I must say, I was really thinking this wouldnt work. But I tried it myself, since i had nothing to lose, and it worked!!!
I think the towel trick cause the xbox360 to overheat, which creates a new error on the xbox360, erasing the previous error, which had caused the RRoD.
I let m xbox rest for about 5 hours after the overheat, and it's working fiiiine so far.
