Sorry. That was the wrong choice of words. My point is this: If all those teams I mentioned could put up 20-25 points on USC, the 2000 Sooners could as well. And I don't think that great defense would have given up 20 points to USC'd offense, as great as the trojans offense was. I mean, they held FSU to 2 points, and FSU's offense might have been better then USC's, so i think oklahoma would have done the same to USC.

It has more to do with scheme and the fact that FSU didn't have a supremely distinguished ground game. The thunder and Lighting tandem has never been shut down. While the FSU offense was very good, USC's was much more talented. I don't think you could argue Leinhart over Weinke or any FSU back over Bush and White. Boldin was special but SC still had the better receiving corp. I don't see anyway SC gets held below 28 points. They were too good at everything.

Well, heyh, its not worth arguing too much over. Both the 00 Oklahoma teams and the 04 Trojans teams were great teams. I personally thought that USC should have been playing Auburn in the Orange Bowl in 2004. They were more worthy then oklahoma, and I'll bet you they would have given USC a fight, unlike the Sooners.

I think it was. USC won by 36 points in this game. I think the next biggest blowout was Florida beating Ohio State by 27 points in 2006.

It's very debatable. It would be asking too much for SC to have another perfect game like they did against OU, but more likely than not it would still probably have been an SC win. In hindsight, a number of teams would have put up a better fight than OU did, but it doesn't mean they deserved to be there. Auburn wasn't impressive in their win over VT in the sugar bowl, could've been lack of motivation or the fact that they weren't all they were cut out to be. Who knows.

Couldn't I make the same argument about Ohio State? The coaches simply didn't have them prepared either for the Florida or LSU games. However, the LSU loss wasn't as bad as the loss to Florida seeing how Ohio State gained more yards than LSU.

What can we say? Our sooners went to miami to party and USC was ready for them. We could have made it a game, we could have made history, but OU decided that it was more important to jack around than to get the job done. We got our asses kicked, simple as that.

The BCS put Oklahoma in a game they had no business being in. Oklahoma didn't even win their conference, so how can the play for a national championship. It should have been LSU vs USC the year they shared the title. Everyone blames USC for sharing the title, but they need to blame the BCS. If they had the chance, then they might have had another "real undisputed" championship.

The best team to come out of the SEC the last 10 years was the 2004 Auburn team. 2004 Auburn would beat 2003 and 2007 LSU and would beat 2006 Florida. All National Championship teams fromt the SEC (best overall conferance by far). Oklahoma in 2004 was good (the were 12-0 before coming into this game) but they were not as good as Auburn that year. Auburn would not have given up 55 points to anyone.

Maybe not 55, but Auburn still would've lost that game. The only reason Auburn didn't get a chance to play USC is because USC beat them 23 to 0 the year before, in Auburn, with a lesser team.

Anyway, I like Oklahoma, especially when you guys beat Texas and Nebraska.
