best pop song ever written. as a musician this just blows me away every time. it's gorgeous and so surreal. i highly highly reccomend anyone who's interested in such music...go check out a band called "the dissociatives" particularly a song called "horror with eyeballs". there's videos on here. closest thing i've ever heard to capturing the vibe brian wilson could conjur. brilliant music!

Well, yes. They (Brian) used the Wrecking Crew to record the album when the Beach Boys (with Glenn Campbell substituting for Brian) were on tour in Japan. It took Brian about 6 months of studio work to get the sound perfect. 5 musicians can't sound like 30, and yes, this sounds exactly like the album. You will also notice...not one guitar plugged in. So give Dennis a break..its Hal Blaine on drums, Carol Kaye on bass, (not Al Jardine), etc. You are also correct, Dennis hated to fake it.
