from watching the video...I'm thinking that the focal character is an emotional girl who is acting out (with her clothing and hair color) due to the absence of her mom--more than likely to death.
the father can't stand the way she looks and takes out his aggression on her. the lyrics say "my love for you his blind". the daugter loves the father no matter what he looks like...but it's not the same in return.
