That's very well palyed and he's goddamn talented bassist... But, doesn't the sound of bass sound guite wierd? It's sounds like it's kind of "triggered"... He just touches the string and it comes very loud from the amps! And there comes same sound when he plays with fingers... and it doesn't sound even bass anymore, it sounds something else! It's almost same thing with triggering the bassdrum of the drumset, but on bass! Incredible bass-playing, but the bass isn't very "real" bass... :)

sorry but this is the stupidest comment ever...triggered?? thats what an amp does...it makes the sound come out louder...and thats what slap bass sounds like....its just how you do your different tones on your amp...

Don't take my comment very serously! :) I play bass myself and etc. but somehow, Mark's bass sounds very strange! It sounds like it's not kind of "normal"... But what I can see about his playing that mostly doesn't hit very hard on the string and it still comes the sound with same volyme! :P I don't say that it's something like "cheating", but who knows! :)

On one of my basses the strings are pretty far from the fret board while on another they are fairly close. And obviously I have to do my slaps much harder on the first bass compared to the other. Mark's strings are prob pretty close to the frets like mine, so he doesn't have to slap very hard, he also has something on his thumb to help. And the different sound just comes from his tone settings, that's what slap bass usually sounds like.

Yes, your comment was stupid -no sense lying. Picked p a $250 Squire bass today and the thing sang like $1000. It's all about technique and playing ability. Barly hit the strings and got an unbelievable crisp, bright sound. Or, it could be this, ANONYMOUS: Mark king is one of, if not the best, slap-bass players in the world... Jesus -not all bass players can be this fucking short-sighted. Do your research!!!
