Yea... The American thing was one of those joke with a hint of truth kind of things. Looks like some people got it and some didn't, as I expected. I however, did not expect people to get so angry. May wanna work on some of those issues dudes. Grammar's more of a set of guidelines than actual rules.

This is pretty sad, d'you guys know who were in America first? Not the Americans (those guys were Indians), the English were the ones that had most land in America... Only the English guys in America had to pay to England, but didn't get anything back for it... So they wanted to be independent... And now they are, but they're still English actually!

i dont get why people argue over text comments for a video. did you notice the music playing while you were fuming over what someone wrote? thats the music you should be talking about, not being petty over wether or not american is really called english. which it is. and even if it wasnt, "america" has 4 languages anyway, considering it is the name of 2 continents with contries whos languages are English, Spanish, Portugese, and French. not including aboriginal languages of course...

I love this band; what an awesome song. *sigh* I don't usually involve myself in arguments, but I'll add my two cents in anyway. English and American English are the same language - they're just classified separately because of differences in spelling,inflection,pronunciation,grammer etc. This all goes back to Webster - he, for all intents and purposes, created "American English". My mom's British; I'm "California Grown"; my sister and I joke about them being separate languages all the time. ^^

to an extent, one can speak with terrible grammar yet you can still understand them if you know the colloquial language or it is close enough to what you do know to figure it out. Ever try reading Shakespeare, it's grammatically correct but very difficult to understand. Grammar rules arn't set in stone they can change overtime so by being overzealous about grammatical mistakes you are standing in the way of progress.
