I am not aware that the jihadis in Iraq and Afghanistan HAVE tanks. Even if they did, there are plenty of other ways to kill a tank, from handheld AT missiles, to Apaches and A-10's. This is for close quarters combat.

Not likely. Shotguns simply can't handle the chamber pressure produced by a round with enough oomph to go through 30+ mm of RHA/aluminium/applique. You could beef up the design and add rifling, but then it wouldn't be a shotgun...it'd be an anti-materiel rifle.
Also, even thin-skinned vehicles give good protection against shotguns. 00 buck has a hard time penetrating even windscreens or car doors at range or oblique angles. The pellets just have a poor ballistic shape.

The round is fin stabilised and uses the fins as part of its safe and arming mechanism
The round has recenty increased its payload and now uses 3.3gms of A5 Comp.
The A5 Comp is initiated by an M55 stab detonator.
The round has successfully penetrated 1 inch cold steel plate at around 50 meters

Frag 12 HE rounds work in standard 12 gauge shotgun shells.
We have used standard 3 inch cases from Martignoni but we are now using much higher quality cases from the Italian manufacturer B&P.

I've read up a few articles claiming to have tested the AP capability of Slug ammo.
All claim it does not tears through armor, but is forcing itself through without penetration. Enough to tear that liver and break the rib cage and cause extreme damage in general.
