The people, in a way, were guilty by association. I do not think that the Japanese would have voted to be involved in the war. The only reason Japan's government was involved in the war was to take a piece of the world for their own after Hitler was done conquering it. The government was willing to exploit their people to do it and unfortunatly the people were too humble and did not put thier foot down. Is humility a crime? In some cases it can be.

The U.S. had no choice but to drop the bomb. They knew that the Japanese would not surrender and hundreds of thousands of U.S. lives would be lost if they went to war with Japan. I'm not saying it was a good thing, but it was justified at the time.

actually they have a safe method of subterranean storage, the only way to actually get rid of the waste is just to wait out the half-lives of the elements, but that takes too long so we can just store it underground where it can't be tampered with.
