What the fuck? You think the Doors guy started rap? Rap got it's inception early on in the 20th century. It evolved from a sort of spoken word, to what we see today. Unfortunately, most rappers nowadays aren't slaves on a plantation, but are slaves to their record companies. Many real rappers, such as Ice, became disenfranchised with what their art form had become, and decided to do something different.
