Met FD a couple of years back and what a nice bloke he was, very humble and asked him about his original Black Squire, said his mates got it..If you have to explain It Bites, then your never really going to get it are you..Wonder how the band haters managed to get here..surely they didn't search for It Bites,oh and they never were a "pop" band!?

People are free to have opinions. If they don't like It Bites then they don't. Fair enough. The fact that I think they are the best live band I ever seen is just my opinion. To those who weren't there - you missed something very rare. It was always incredible.

Classic. I've enjoyed almost every live video from the 80s in the past few hours.
Stunning playing- wish I'd seen them in the flesh 'back in the day'

Thanks, I will dig out my membership, cant remember the number. Not that it matters. It was just a good club appreciating a superb live band. I get saddened by the negative comments. If I were to comment in the same way regarding all the poor groups, manufactured artists, and talentless prima donnas that grace today's music scene then I would be writing forever. At the very least these people should try to be constructive with the comments. Up the Blades

This is a weird one for me, it seems there's two ideas of a song. The first being a average, 80's verse/chorus idea ala Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones or something. The other being an exhibition of musicality and individual musicianship the like of modern bands like Dream Theatre. And IMHO, the two do not fit together. It's like they really wanted to be prog as fuck, but the record company was leaning on them to write "hit singles" or something!

Francis used to try and get that guitar lick at 1.54 into as many songs as possible - totally unmusical and pointless. Fantastic band. I'm sure the rhythmic section at 2.33 is taken from something Phil Collins plays on the drums in the sax solo of 'I Cannot Believe It's True'.

well steevidrums what you are saying is half correct. They knew that they were prog but the record company were supressing them on the first album and tellin them to keep it more commercial. the second album has the proper prog moments as they were let loose cos they'd been established. what a band
I know what you ... ( 1 week ago by lonegroover)
I know what you mean. They always had an ear for a catchy melody though, even when they were let loose to do their own thing - and personally I really like the Go West meets Mel & Kim moments on the first album :)
