This is the first episode, "The Undefeated", of the classic TV series, Colditz, which originally aired from 1972-1974. Colditz was a BBC & Universal Studios joint venture, and had a star-cast of Robert Wagner, David McCallum, Edward Hardwicke, et al. Superb drama full of suspense. Based on the stories of actual WW2 allied PoWs and escape-attempts from Colditz castle. This series has never been released on DVD or VHS, but I have all 28 episodes on DVD-R and DVD+R formats recorded from UK Gold ;). waves to rollingstone ;) thank you so much for this there's nothing better when its all miserable and grotty outside than watching colditz with a cup of tea and a bicky. This is such a good series I really do love it, and not just because david mccallums in it either, it's so human and sad and sweet. If anyone's interested i have episode two- missing presumed dead. Thank you again rollingstone and have a nice christmas

That Character Major Horst Mohn (played by Anthony Valentine), the sadistic efficient security officer has remained the symbol of any bastard abusing a position of power in our family (in a humorous way) ever since we saw it as kids in the seventies. That says a lot about Valentines performance and the show I think. Release it on DVD bbc!
