Otis is underrated when it comes to uptempo songs. His style can't be copied. The energy, the gimmicks, the rhythmic phrasing which almost could be considered as rappin'... The arrangements, that he worked out together with Booker T. & the Mg's also kick hardly- he invented all those remarkable horn lines... No doubt- Otis is the definition of soul music whether its a 12/8 ballad or a stomper.

It's awesome how Otis' voice takes me back in time to my teenage years walking on the beach on warm summer nights. He brings back faces and feelings that I thought were long lost. I just listen with a big smile on my face and a lump in my throat. Ain't life grand?!

Otis Redding is usually brilliant.He's one of the greatest soul singers of all time.But with that said,he's still human and isn't perfect.Which is proven right here.I don't care for the way he covered some classics...Like this one for example.The original was much better.This song was meant to be sung up tempo.Roy Head and The Commitments did a much better job with it.Now before Any of you start giving me the "thumbs down",watch those other two artists' versions first.
