My Encounter of the 3rd kind with X-Pres. George H.W. Bush

I met, then Vice-President Bush, in the fall of 1988. (I think that was the year, maybe fall 1987 not really sure) Anyway, he came to St Raphael's, a small Catholic (no, I'm not Catholic) Nursing Home in Mable Cliff, (a little SW of Columbus,OH a close suburb of Columbus). I refused to shake his hand, I didn't like him then & I like him even less now. He always basically gave me the creeps, even as VP. I think he's a sleazy character. Apparently, Prescott Bush was born & lived on this estate in Columbus (Marble Cliff) where our 78 bed nursing home was located. He gave this land to the Catholic Diocese at some point (probably after he got caught for laundering Nazi money). Eventually, it was used as a Catholic Nursing home, St. Raphael's. Run by an order of Carmelite Nuns noted for their irrational behavior :) (Not you Sr. Deirdre, you know I think you were the only sane one there :)But anyway, he came to visit, I refused to shake his hand & the rest is as they say, history :) My 5 seconds of fame :) I have NEVER regretted not shaking his hand, ever!
