Ray Parker was a gifted musician.. However Parker did steal Wanna new Drug from Huey Lewis and the News it had nothing to do with racial issues... In fact Lewis loved soul and R&B music which influenced him.. the fact is Parker too the exact same music from Drug and incorporated it to the note to Ghostbusters which is one of his most atrocious songs,,,i mean the song is ridiculously stupid written for a dumb movie Ghostbusters for zionist
Parker should have known better...It hurt his career!

Ray Parker Jr. was one of the greatest talents the world has ever known, both solo, and with his days with "Radio." If any of you were fortunate enough to remember when this song came out, it was an innocent moment in time when you just wanted to give the young heart you were dating the ultimate love and respect. With this great song playing over and over again in our heads, "respect" came naturally for those young girls we loved and were dating at the time. Sweet innocence long lost in time.

InfinityNebula...Ray Parker did settle out of court with Huey Lewis for what was suppose to be an undisclosed amount of money until Huey Lewis went on a talk show and ran his mouth about it. The fact is, Huey Lewis wasn't ever worthy enough of doing Ray Parker Jr's dirty dishes and laundry. And besides, shouldn't you have made this satement on a Ghostbusters video?

Thats your opinion about Huey Lewis. youre entitled to that opinion However Lewis had many more hits than Parker and was more popular..Ray Parker, Jr was wonderful as a studio musician but face it Parker could never sing Lewis wasnt a great singer but he was better than Ray Parker..I liked Parker when he was with Raydio is the early days when he produced Jack and Jill and You Cant Change That..those were the biggest hits.
My Point was Parker didnt have to steal that song and sellout to zionist!

Damn you right! I don't ever remember hearing Ray Parker in Concert...But I think his voice matched his music. Easy Listening, notice he doesn't scream or shout. He almost sounds like he's talking. But the shit sounds good. His voice is almost like "Cool" or he's about to bust one on himself. My friends used to laugh about that....

Funny that I come across this thread because I heard and saw Parker last night at the San Fernando Jazz Festival in Trinidad with Joe Sample and he sounded really good. That's why I came searching for this song as it brought back so much memories

Ray Parker was a much in demand studio musician in the late 70's and early 80's. I remember seeing his name on a lot of Pop musicians records. I even remember seeing his name on a 'Carpenters' record called "All You Get From Love Is A Love Song" - a jazzy Latin-tinged song with the unmistakable guitar of Ray during the intro. Great musician.
