You are a fool to think that God will not prosper another man because other people are poor. Why are they poor? If you are so concerned why not start you a non profit homeless and food organization. Does your boss live in the ghetto? Does your mayor or Governor drive a cheap car? Is it okay to you, for corporate executives and politicians, who make your life miserable, is it okay for them to live in luxery and wealth? Why not spend your energy deaing with their greed.

So, do you help all the poor families in your city? Does your pastor get a salary or pay from the church? If you can't help all around you, how do you think preachers are supposed to help every poor person. think more sensible.

I can imagine if Jesus was talking to you. You would say, "but" to him, you keep trying to dance around this scripture and make it say what you want it to say. Giving to the poor was the emphasis, not selling all he had. The man was attached to his wealth, he was selfish and greedy. This is what hindered him from the kingdom, his greed and selfishness. It was not what he had, it was his love of the things he had.

I agree with this Pastor, listen to no one unless what he says lines up with the Word. God promises to meet all of our needs, if God sends me to meet the President, He will provide me with the right attire. That doesn't mean I need 1,000 dresses because I might have to go somewhere fancy.
All that we have should be used for the Kingdom, not to please ourselves. Wealth is not evil, misuse of wealth is. He that dies with the most toys does not win, he will answer for his neglect of the poor.

One thing that i'm not really agreeing with you on is the Timothy scripture that says the laborers deserve double honour. You assume that "honour" means financial blessings. I'm not saying it doesn't include that but you make it sound like the more "honour" they have the more money they will have. Remember Christ was willing to ride on a donkey, although He never lacked anything He needed. Also, in your title you lump pastor Manning in without establishing doctrine he teaches which is false.

I agree with you about studying and coming correct with the world, so why is the body of christ into theses babylonian customs that God told israel not to do in the book of Jeremiah. He said not to learn the way of the heathen and their customs, like taking a tree and decking it with silver and gold, sounds like a christmas tree to me. Also if we christians researched history we would learn that ancient jews and early christians including the Apostles did not part take in these pagan holidays

Also know where these holidays came from like Easter, it really means Ishtar and her actual name is Sermiramis the wife of Nimrod and her title is "The Queen of heaven", she was the first High Priestess of idolatry and in different countries she has a different name. One more thing, God also makes mention of Sermiramis's son Tammuz in Ezekial Ch.8 and he shows the prophet what the children of israel had got into, the 40 day weeping for Tammuz which for all you Catholics out there is now called "Lent". God called this also an abomination, and I'm very worried about the people in the catholic church because the have no idea what their involved in. Please read Rev.17 describing the whore riding the beast, it description looks a lot like the catholic church.

But I do believe that if you honor someone you do give them a financial blessing. look at every major award and you will find they honor people with awards and money with it. be involve with in some form or another. We can use our great wealth to further the true Christian movement around the world. Voices of Martyrs & Gospel For Asia have a far better concept; instead of sending a bunch of American missionaries around the world at a time, just send a few at a time to teach & train the locals as the Bible says which is more culturally effective, & even cost effective. Those mega churches could easily do that instead of living in excess.
