a dallas dynasty, ... ( 5 months ago by PrisonerOfLife86)
a dallas dynasty, concussions among other injuries, brett favre and teh packers, half a career in the nfl, do the math, steve young woulda won 5 superbowls regardless of a dynasty and packers. what wouldve been those extra 7+ years? i say at least 14 consecutive probowls, 6 mvps, more sb mvps than montana, he already surpassed him in the super bowl perfromance.

If not for Craig's fumble, its a three-peat for sure. That loss hurt me more than any before or since. Montana would have been out with injury, but Young would have stepped in and got it done.

I don't think the 49ers of 1990 really completely got untracked despite going 14-2 and still making it to the NFC Championship Game. Defense played a big hand in how far they still made it. Montana was solid as usual but Roger Craig started to break down that year with injuries, halting the running game and ofcourse taking away a lot of what they did so well in that west coast offense. They shouldn't have lost that NFC Championship game but they allowed the Giants to stick around.

These were the pre-salary cap days. That's how one team can have so many weapons.
These days it is MUCH harder, or impossible, to keep a team like that one together.

It wasn't Craig's fault. That was a bad handoff by Young. The ball was placed near Craig groin area and was rushed!!!!!

All of those 80s Bronco Super Bowl teams were just John Elway and that's it.
The 1990 Giants ... ( 2 months ago by Pksoze)
The 1990 Giants were a good team. They went 13-3 and held the 49ers to 20 combined points and allowed only 2 tds in two games.

Well, the Niners still were the best of the 1980s, easily. Giants were a great club, though, that is for sure.

Any team that wins ... ( 1 month ago by ishmaiden)
Any team that wins the championship is a good team, but were they among the greatest? I'd be hard pressed to say yes, though that takes nothign away from the work they put in that year. They're weren't as talented as the '86 team, so they had to play tougher and smarter. The defensive game plan in SB 25 is the standard to beat a high powered offense. Different packages and match ups, including using the running game to kill the clock. The set the stage for '01 Pats and '07 Giants.

No, they were John Elway with special help from the Cleveland Browns. Elway beat them all three AFC championship games those years.
clock 59 razor..... ... ( 5 days ago by BIGRED224FOREVER)
clock 59 razor.............. eat it bitch lovin elway lovers .... tell me elway was better your friggen nuts ... montana owned him and he had good teams .... dont tell me elway had nothing. Montana was automatic or actually he was "all day" which means he made you call your teamates out look up the video of superbowl and see mecklenburg say somebody has gotta stop them ..... and he was a pro bowler!!!! the niners had superior system and the perfect compliment of a general to lead them.
I think that lose ... ( 9 hours ago by 5648378)
I think that lose was their greatness falling a part just like the Miami Dolphins in 1974 when they lost to the raiders with the sea of hands play and 49ers was the young handoff that ended the 49ers's dynasty forever till 94
