Yeh, if I remember right this was 100% improvised. Just like the best of Jazz.
I remember he also played one of the hardest classical pieces ever, a Bartok piece, and classical critics said he played it flawlessly. Not many pianists have can even attempt to master both Jazz and Classical like Jarret.

alcune centinaia di persone hanno ascoltato il 24 gennaio 1974, all'Opera Haus di colonia questo concerto. tutta la loro esistenza può davvero significare, si insomma,"c'ero".però sembra di esserci a tutti noi che l'ascoltiamo ogni volta. e poi si ascolta due volte di seguito. lasciando andare tutta la fretta del mondo. eccolo il Bösendorfer stonato. eccolo per sempre.
