Uh, I agree this isn't nu-metal. But this definitely isn't melodic death metal either. Your melo-death bands would be your In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, etc. This has a very distinct influence of bands like Sepultura, whom aren't melodic death metal at all. Regardless, great band.

Since Gojira vary their sound from song to song, it's a challenge to classify it properly. Hell, I don't even know what to call this one song! The closest thing would probably be Death/Groove metal, although that sounds kinda wrong too.
